Revolution HyperSport enters production. Power increased following a successful Summer test programme.
Revolution HyperSport completes the first phase of rigorous testing across a diverse range of circuits and conditions
Power to weight ratio now confirmed at 515 bhp/tonne, an increase on the launch target
First build slots full, orders now being taken for delivery early 2027
First ten race series or events announced for HyperSport eligibility
Revolution Race Cars has confirmed that production of its all-new HyperSport has now begun, following an extensive Summer development and test programme.
The Revolution HyperSport was unveiled in April as an entirely new category of track machine, combining the driveability of GT3/GT4 type cars with the performance, safety and efficiency of modern prototypes.
Since its launch, the car has been subjected to an intensive programme at a diverse range of circuits including Snetterton, Blyton, Cadwell, Silverstone and Donington, with testing covering conditions ranging from cold and wet weather through to ambient temperatures exceeding 35°C.
Significantly, the power to weight ratio comfortably beats the launch target with an impressive 515 bhp/tonne being achieved. By comparison, a Porsche 911 GT3 road-legal car and a current LMP3 car have 350 and 470 bhp/tonne respectively, underlining the HyperSport’s positioning as both a trackday and race car.
Nigel Redwood, Managing Director, Revolution Race Cars, said: “We set out with some very ambitious targets, but rather than chase headline numbers, we have concentrated on making the car genuinely usable, reliable and rewarding.
“The result is a car that is delivering more than we originally promised. We are particularly pleased to confirm that the production HyperSport will now deliver 350 bhp, and an impressive 515 bhp/tonne.
“Combined with a dry weight of just 680 kg, that gives the car its extraordinary power-to-weight ratio, but the number itself isn't the most important thing. What matters is how that performance can be used by the driver, lap after lap, with confidence.”
The programme has allowed Revolution to sign off the car’s behaviour across a broad range of conditions, while the next phase of testing focuses on performance and continuing to refine the driving experience that sits at the heart of the HyperSport concept. This includes tuning the car to a wide range of applications, including endurance racing specifications, on a range of international circuits and test facilities.
Safety without compromise
Safety has remained a fundamental part of the HyperSport development programme.
A major milestone was the car's success in exceeding FIA standards during testing at Cranfield Impact Centre. The tests applied two tonnes of load for each side of the chassis in three different locations, against an FIA maximum allowable displacement of 30 mm. HyperSport achieved just 1.8 mm in the footwell, 15 mm in the cockpit and 8.5 mm in the rear.

The crash box ‘sled’ test was also a significant part of the programme, with multiple composite layups evaluated to minimise impact forces and optimise driver protection.
The first ten racing series and events across Europe and North America where the car is eligible have been announced. Together, those opportunities encompass more than 30 iconic circuits, giving customers in different markets a choice of racing close to home rather than requiring them to follow a single international championship.
