Founded in 2017 by the father-and-son duo Phil and James Abbott, Revolution Race Cars was built on a mission to ensure that innovation in motorsport extends beyond the elite.

Phil Abbott co-founded Radical Sportscars in 1997, growing the company to over 100 staff and selling over 2,000 cars—transforming the landscape of club motorsport. Reflecting on his inspiration, Phil said, “Nobody had built the car I wanted to buy and race, so I decided to make it myself.”

The launch of Revolution Race Cars was driven by a new challenge. Phil, with his son James, spent countless hours in pit lanes around the world, observing a widening gap between top-tier racing series and the grassroots feeder series. It became evident that the car racers truly wanted to own and race once again simply didn’t exist.

Since the launch of the first Revolution, three models have been launched with over 50 cars competing around the world. From winning European, Asian and USA championships to providing track day drivers with a new level of extreme yet reliable performance, Revolution has gone from strength to strength.

Revolution Race Cars brings together some of the best talent in the motorsport industry. Driven by a shared passion for creating ever-better race cars that delight drivers and fans alike, the team works tirelessly to deliver exceptional service and innovative products.

All Revolution models are designed to set new benchmarks for safety while delivering exceptional quality, value for money, and performance.

Together, James and Phil Abbott boast a combined 70+ years of race car manufacturing experience. They have also assembled an exceptional team, handpicked for their dedication to first-class customer service, superior quality, and cutting-edge innovation.

Since 2017, the range has expanded to meet the needs of different levels of track drivers, track days and championships. The company has also grown in stature with a deeply experienced board and management team, including the appointments of Nigel Redwood as Managing Director, Zac Moseley as Chairman and Marc Russell as Director. These appointments are focused on driving Revolution's international growth and product development.

Meet the Directors and Founders

Phil Abbott

Co-Founder

Phil, a distinguished BRDC Member and motorsport icon, has an engineering background from Rolls Royce and Jaguar. His journey in race car manufacturing began at Spyder Engineering, specialising in replacement Lotus chassis and suspension. Co-founding Radical, he capitalised on the demand for high-quality national-level race cars, achieving international success. In 2017, he co-founded Revolution with his son James.

James Abbott

Co-Founder

James Abbott, co-founder of Revolution and a British Formula Ford and F3 race winner, brings extensive expertise in race car development and engineering. His experience with Radical, Ligier, and special projects with Aston Martin and Imperial College London give him a unique perspective into every element of a race car.

Zac Moseley

Chairman

Zac Moseley has spent the past 20 years operating Classic Car Club Manhattan, where members join to drive exceptional cars. Beyond just cars, Classic Car Club offers its members access to a wide range of automotive and motorsport experiences, with racing at the front of the grid being the pinnacle of its offerings. With backgrounds in engineering, hospitality, and entrepreneurship, Zac will now serve as Chairman, shaping Revolution’s future offerings and experiences through racing.

Nigel Redwood

Managing Director

Nigel Redwood has over 25 years of commercial expertise and a strong motorsport background as a driver and team manager. His long-standing relationship with Phil Abbott began in 2006 when he won the Radical Enduro Championship. In 2023, he joined Revolution Race Cars as a consultant, focusing on sales, marketing strategy, and securing investment. His transition to full time Managing Director highlights his commitment to Revolution's vision.

Marc Russell

Director

Marc, a seasoned Automotive and Hospitality entrepreneur, was so impressed by the Revolution 500SC after only a few laps of Portimão, that he immediately bought one! His was one of the first to campaign in America and he soon acquired a new 500 EVO. Marc was so captivated in the product, team, and future potential that he ultimately invested in the company. “I never in a million years, thought I would be driving a car at this pace on the world's most iconic race tracks, it's bucket list material"
