Revolution Dominates at Portimão with Clean Sweep

Revolution Race Cars enjoyed a spectacular weekend at the final round of the 2026 Equipe Sports Prototypes Series at Portimão, with Greaham Hofmans and Joaquim Penteado delivering a dominant performance in their Revolution 500 EVO, while the new Revolution HyperSport made an impressive racing debut.
Sharing the Revolution 500 EVO, Hofmans and Penteado were simply unstoppable around the challenging Algarve International Circuit, securing pole position, all three race victories and the fastest laps to complete a remarkable clean sweep of the weekend.
Their dominance was evident from the outset, with the 500 EVO setting the pace throughout qualifying and the races. However, it wasn't all plain sailing. The weekend's most dramatic moment came in Race 2, when a mistake at the start saw Penteado drop to the back of the field. What followed was a sensational recovery drive, as he carved his way through the pack, consistently demonstrating the pace and handling of the Revolution 500 EVO. With just two laps remaining, Penteado completed his charge to the front, taking the lead and securing a memorable victory.
Races 1 and 3 proved more straightforward affairs, with the 500 EVO dominating from the front and underlining the impressive performance of both car and drivers.
The result was a perfect end to the 2026 season for the duo, showcasing the outright pace, reliability and competitiveness of the Revolution 500 EVO.
HyperSport Makes an Impressive Race Debut
While the 500 EVO was busy collecting silverware, the weekend also marked another significant milestone for Revolution Race Cars, as the all-new Revolution HyperSport made its competitive racing debut.
Following an extensive development and testing programme, Portimão provided the perfect opportunity to evaluate the new two-seater prototype in a live racing environment.
The team approached the weekend with a clear development focus, using the first two races primarily as extended test sessions to gather valuable data under race conditions, including running in traffic and evaluating the car's performance over longer distances.
By Race 3, the team was ready to push the HyperSport harder and compete through to the chequered flag.
Starting from the back of the grid, the HyperSport faced an additional challenge when it was required to serve a drive-through penalty. Despite these setbacks, the new car demonstrated impressive pace and competitiveness, fighting its way through the field to finish third overall.
Even more encouraging was the HyperSport's outright speed, recording an impressive 1:46.2 lap time around the demanding Portimão circuit.
For a car still in the its development programme, the performance was an extremely encouraging indication of its potential, demonstrating both its pace and its ability to compete in a race environment.
With valuable race mileage completed and further development planned, the HyperSport's debut represents another exciting step forward for Revolution as the new model moves towards customer deliveries and a full racing programme.
