Riley Sweeps PS2 at Road America as Posey Claims Breakthrough Revolution Cup PS1 Wins

The Revolution Cup delivered an action-packed weekend of prototype racing at Road America, featuring a 35-car mixed prototype grid, changing weather conditions, and standout performances across both the PS1 and PS2 classes.

Austin Riley Dominates PS2 at Road America

In PS2, Austin Riley proved untouchable aboard the #20 Revolution 427. Riley qualified on pole position in class before sweeping all three PS2 races to complete a perfect weekend at Road America.

Riley’s pace, consistency, and racecraft established him as the benchmark in PS2 from the first session through the final chequered flag. His standout drive came in Race Three, where he finished as the highest-placed Revolution entry overall, beating the more powerful PS1 machinery while being one of the only competitors to remain on slick tyres as conditions became increasingly wet.

Throughout the weekend, Riley was challenged by James Dennison in the #44 Revolution 427. Dennison delivered an impressive and consistent performance of his own, securing three P2 finishes in PS2 and completing a dominant weekend for the Revolution 427 platform in PS2.

Jeff Posey Breaks Through in Revolution Cup PS1

While Riley swept PS2, one of the biggest stories of the weekend emerged in the Revolution Cup PS1 category, where Jeff Posey enjoyed a breakout performance in only his second-ever road racing weekend.

Coming from a background racing on dirt on both motorcycles and trophy trucks, Posey adapted quickly to the demands of high-speed prototype racing with support from driver coach Marco Cencetti and Revolution’s Arrive and Drive program.

Posey’s rapid progression was one of the standout stories of the event. He captured two Revolution Cup PS1 victories and added two overall P2 finishes in PS1 competition, demonstrating remarkable speed and confidence at one of North America’s most demanding road courses.

His ability to compete at the front so early in his road racing career made his performance at Road America one of the most impressive storylines of the entire weekend.

Chris Hinojosa Secures Additional Reolution Cup PS1 Victory

Chris Hinojosa claimed the remaining Revolution Cup PS1 victory, ensuring the battle for class honors remained competitive throughout the event weekend.

The most dramatic action came during Race Three, which was contested in damp and worsening wet conditions. Posey initially led the race outright, an especially impressive feat considering his limited experience in road racing prototypes.

As track conditions deteriorated, Posey spun from the overall lead, allowing Hinojosa to move to the front. However, the challenging conditions continued to catch out even the leaders, with Hinojosa later spinning while leading as well.

That opened the door for Riley, who kept his composure despite running slick tyres in increasingly wet conditions, to emerge as the leading Revolution Cup finisher overall.

Revolution Cup Delivers Thrilling Prototype Racing Showcase

With 35 prototype race cars sharing the grid, the weekend at Road America showcased the excitement of modern prototype racing, combining intense class battles, unpredictable weather, and high-speed competition.

Austin Riley’s clean sweep of the PS2 class and Jeff Posey’s breakthrough Revolution Cup PS1 victories ensured Revolution leaves Wisconsin with strong momentum and several memorable performances heading into the next round of the championship.
