Mixed Fortunes for Revolution Teams at Road America

The Revolution teams showed promising pace during the free practice sessions leading up to the Prototype Sprint Series Association (PSSA) sprint and enduro races at Road America. All four teams fielding Revolution 500SC race cars entered qualifying with high expectations, and their performance did not disappoint.

Ron Fletcher, driving the Revolution RSR prepared 500SC, clinched pole position after a commanding qualifying session. He was closely followed by Judd Miller of Esses Racing, setting the stage for a thrilling rivalry between the two drivers who had engaged in intense battles throughout 2023. Zac Moseley from Classic Car Club Racing secured third position, with private entrant Chris Hinojosa close behind in fourth. The grid dominance by Revolution drivers underscored their superiority, with non-Revolution prototypes trailing some 2.5 seconds behind.

However, the optimism from qualifying took a turn during Sprint Race 1. A first-lap incident involving Judd Miller, Chris Hinojosa, and Russell Allen forced all three cars to retire from the weekend's proceedings. Despite this setback, Zac Moseley and Ron Fletcher battled for Revolution Cup honours in a fiercely contested race, with Fletcher ultimately claiming victory by a narrow margin of 0.2 seconds after 30 minutes of intense racing.

The fortunes shifted again on Sunday during both the Enduro and Sprint races. This time Zac Moseley displayed remarkable resilience and skill, securing Revolution Cup victories in both events, consolidating an impressive weekend performance with two first-place finishes and one second-place finish.

Looking ahead, the Revolution Cup moves to Lime Rock Park on July 19-20, followed closely by the Portland International Speedway from July 26-28. With the strong pace demonstrated at Road America, the teams are poised to continue their competitive streak into the upcoming events.
