Canadian motorsport fans had plenty to cheer about this past weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where three-time World Champion figure skater Elvis Stojko continued his remarkable journey into motor racing. Returning in his Revolution 500SC with Rilli Racing, Stojko delivered a standout performance, qualifying P2 and finishing P2 in the race against a field that included cutting-edge LMP3 machines.
Stojko stunned the paddock by securing second on the grid, missing out on pole only to Canadian prototype ace Travis Hill in a brand-new 2025 Ligier LMP3. In the race, Stojko converted that qualifying form into a strong second-place finish, once again splitting the LMP3 contingent and standing on the podium between Hill and another LMP3 driver Liang Qiu. The feat was all the more impressive given the performance gap that should exists between LMP3 cars and the Revolution 500SC.
“Beating one of the LMP3s outright shows just how capable Elvis has become in such a short time,” said Steffen Rilli, Team Principal of Rilli Racing, which runs Stojko’s 500SC. “To be on this pace already, and to mix it with established LMP3 machinery, is very impressive.”
The weekend results continue a trend of rapid progress for Stojko, who only began racing the Revolution in 2024 but has quickly established himself as one of the category’s most exciting drivers. His ability to adapt to the high-downforce, high-speed prototype has been praised by both his team and the Revolution factory.
Buoyed by this success, Stojko and Rilli Racing have confirmed their entry for the season finale of the Prototype Sprint Series Association (PSSA) at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, October 30-November 2. The event is expected to feature a bumper 30-car mixed prototype grid, including as many as 10 Revolution Race Cars —a perfect stage for Stojko to cap off a breakthrough season.
