R53 Suspension selected as official damper supplier for Revolution HyperSport
Advanced IL46 dampers developed to maximise ride control, traction and driver confidence
Partnership combines simulation-led engineering with customer-focused vehicle dynamics
Collaboration supports HyperSport philosophy of ‘exhilarate, not intimidate’
Revolution Race Cars has announced R53 Suspension as the official suspension partner for the all-new Revolution HyperSport, the lightweight track and race car designed to create a new benchmark for approachable, high-performance driving.
As part of the collaboration, every Revolution HyperSport will be equipped with R53’s advanced IL46 dampers, specifically developed to deliver exceptional body control, traction and compliance across a wide range of circuit conditions.
The partnership unites two engineering-led companies that share a commitment to innovation, technical excellence and driver confidence. R53’s experience across some of motorsport’s most demanding disciplines, from top-level rallycross and the Dakar Rally to high-performance road car projects, made the company a natural choice for the HyperSport programme.
The suspension package has been developed to complement the HyperSport’s lightweight sub-700kg construction, low-drag aerodynamic concept and driver-focused philosophy. Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the car remains predictable and composed over uneven circuit surfaces, helping drivers extract performance while maintaining confidence behind the wheel.

James Abbott, Co-Founder and Head of Product Development, Revolution Race Cars, said: “R53 shares a very similar engineering mindset to Revolution and this has been a genuine technical partnership throughout the development process.
“One of our key objectives for HyperSport was ensuring the car performs exceptionally well on circuits with significant bumps and surface changes. Many track day venues, particularly in North America, and circuits such as Sebring place huge demands on suspension performance. The car needed to remain stable and confidence-inspiring in those conditions.
“With the R53 package, we were able to tune the car to handle high-amplitude inputs from single-wheel high-speed bump events while maintaining the platform control needed for stability and predictability in fast corners. The IL46 damper uniquely manages the transition between high- and low-frequency suspension inputs, without relying on multiple, often confusing adjusters, thanks to the reduced hysteresis of its inline monotube construction.
“The result is a car that glides over the bumpy sections of the track yet still feels firm and supported, giving the driver the confidence to push on and enjoy their time on track. This directly supports our philosophy of making HyperSport exhilarating, not intimidating, and R53 has played an important role in achieving that balance.”
Revolution first worked with R53 Suspension when upgrading its first car, the A-One, to become the Revolution 427. The partnership was built on shared goals, a similar work ethic, attention to detail, data analysis and the ability to fine tune dampers to our needs. This convinced Revolution that R53 was the right partner for the flagship 500 EVO model and the HyperSport.
R53’s IL46 dampers feature more than 100 individual components, with each element designed to contribute to overall performance, consistency and adjustability. Manufactured using lightweight aluminium and aerospace-grade materials, the IL46 is among the lightest dampers available in its category while maintaining the durability required for intensive circuit use.
Both the HyperSport and R53 damper package benefited from extensive computational fluid dynamics and simulation-led development, allowing the two companies to accelerate the engineering process while minimising the need for repeated physical prototypes.
Roger Estrada, Founder and Managing Director, R53 Suspension, added: “We have worked with Revolution Race Cars for several years and have developed a strong understanding of their priorities regarding ride height control, aerodynamic consistency and traction performance. Our objective is always to ensure the chassis and tyres work together as effectively as possible. As vehicle performance increases, managing those relationships becomes increasingly important.
“By relying heavily on simulation and advanced development methods, we can deliver a product that is extremely close to the required specification from the outset. This reduces development time for the customer and allows the final fine-tuning work to take place at the circuit.
“The result is a highly specialised damper package that has been tailored specifically to the HyperSport and its intended applications.”
The partnership further strengthens the technical package underpinning the Revolution HyperSport, which combines a carbon reinforced polymer monocoque, innovative aerodynamic design and the world’s first double halo safety structure integrated with an IndyCar-style aeroscreen concept.
Available to order now and priced below £120,000, the Revolution HyperSport has been engineered to deliver exhilarating but approachable performance for both competitive racers and serious track day drivers.
