Alcon selected as official braking supplier for Revolution HyperSport
Complete Alcon braking package developed to maximise confidence, feel and durability
Engineered for endurance racing and intensive track use
Partnership reinforces HyperSport philosophy of combining high-level prototype performance with low operating costs
Revolution Race Cars is proud to announce Alcon as the official braking partner for the all-new Revolution HyperSport, the lightweight track and race car unveiled earlier this year that is set to establish an entirely new segment of the trackday and club race car market.
As part of the partnership, the Revolution HyperSport will feature Alcon four-piston brake calipers at each corner, paired with 300 x 26 mm brake discs, delivering exceptional stopping performance, consistency and driver confidence.
The collaboration brings together two companies focused on engineering innovation, performance, and reliability. Alcon’s extensive experience supplying braking systems to the highest levels of global motorsport made it a natural fit for the HyperSport programme, which has been designed to combine prototype performance with reduced operational complexity and running costs.

The HyperSport’s braking system has been engineered specifically to complement the car’s lightweight sub-700 kg construction and driver-focused philosophy. Compared to the flagship Revolution 500 EVO, the HyperSport uses even larger brake pads, helping reduce the pedal force required under heavy braking and improving modulation and confidence for drivers of all experience levels.
James Abbott, Co-Founder and Head of Product Development, Revolution Race Cars, said: “The braking package was a critical part of the HyperSport programme because confidence is central to the car’s philosophy of ‘exhilarate, not intimidate’. Alcon’s systems give superb feel and consistency, which immediately helps drivers trust the car and push harder. Alcon also demonstrated a high level of understanding, including working with us to tune the piston sizes to give the feel that we want for our customers.
“The larger brake pad area provides better heat distribution over the disc, which equates to a more consistent and predictable pedal feel when driven hard. Just as importantly it prevents glazing when driven to less extreme levels on a track day or with novice drivers.
“The transition from the braking zone into corner entry is a major performance window, and often is the key to unlocking lap time gains. Ensuring the car behaves predictably and builds driver confidence in this phase is critical. Working with Alcon to provide the optimal braking materials and components will be a big advantage to the HyperSport driver.
“The light weight of the HyperSport means these brakes could comfortably cope with stopping a car that’s twice as heavy. That means longevity will be extremely strong, reducing running costs and making the HyperSport exceptionally well suited to endurance racing or full-day hard track running with no modifications required. It fits perfectly with our philosophy of less downtime and more track time.”
Alcon is globally recognised for supplying high-performance braking systems to elite motorsport categories and leading OEM manufacturers, with a reputation for quality, consistency and reliability in the most demanding environments.
Every component within Alcon’s braking systems is engineered to maximise performance, thermal efficiency, durability and weight optimisation, while maintaining the flexibility to tailor solutions to specific vehicle and customer requirements.
The partnership further strengthens the technical package underpinning the Revolution HyperSport, which combines a lightweight infused carbon reinforced polymer monocoque, innovative low-drag aerodynamic philosophy and world-first double halo with IndyCar-style aeroscreen safety concept.
Available to order now and priced below £120,000, the Revolution HyperSport has been engineered to deliver exhilarating but approachable performance for both competitive racers and serious track day drivers.
